Beginning life as Spike before being rechristened Butchieboo in 1955’s Wags to Riches, Butchieboo was an antagonist and rival for Droopy in several of Tex Avery’s Droopy short films. To avoid confusion with Spike from Tom and Jerry cartoons, his name was changed so as not to cause confusion; additionally he also appeared in several direct-to-DVD Droopy movies as well as some Tom and Jerry movies.
Butchieboo features a violet-tipped nose and pink paw pads and nails; her eyes feature aqua countershading; she has lavender markings on her back and occiput that vary between episodes; in her debut episode on Lilo & Stitch as well as brief scenes throughout Stitch! anime series episodes she also sports a heart-shaped marking on her forehead as well as an upward facing mouth that sometimes squints slightly.
She possesses the power to change the shape of her body at will and use her antennae as prehensile limbs, capable of flight, telekinesis and intangibility (though she requires assistance to achieve these feats). Furthermore, she is naturally heat resistant, indestructible, able to speak both English and Tantalog – an alien language partially adopted by her adoptive family – simultaneously.
Butchieboo has an affinity for romantic archetypes that fit cliche molds; as demonstrated when 627 approached Angel disguised as a pirate in Son of Sprout and won her over with such an approach. Additionally, Butchieboo is vulnerable to experiment powers such as Amnesio wiping out her memory, Babyfier turning her into a baby, Spooky turning her into water nearly drowning her, Dupe duplicating her into four (weakening strength), Frenchfry making her fat with junk food intake; Yaarp sounding out loud megaphone soundscape; Snooty sucking out her mucus production; Swirly hypnotizing her; Swapper swapping bodies with Lilo and Pleakley while Houdini rendering her invisible; Slushy freezing her over.
