The Album Review of Nyude by VAST

Nudity refers to being free of clothing; however, this term can also refer to artwork that depicts human bodies in various states of near or total undress.

The term nudist is derived from Latin noun nudus, meaning naked or bare, with its first use in English dating back to 1531. Since then, its meaning has expanded to encompass both physical conditions as well as styles of clothing like nude swimsuits.

Not surprisingly, nude bodies of athletes, models and actors are frequently featured in fashion magazines. Some find these images seductive or desirable while others view them as offensive or inappropriate.

Although nudity is natural for human bodies, some cultures consider it taboo and offensive. Therefore, it’s essential that we respect others’ beliefs while remaining cognizant that nudity may cause offense.

Nyude by VAST was released on February 24, 2004 as their third studio album by Carson Daly’s independent label 456 Entertainment – their last before signing with 2blossoms Records. Composed of remixed demos previously available online as Turquoise & Crimson, in 2005 this was also re-released with bonus tracks housed within a cardboard slipcase; musically similar songs can be found here as with their initial debut release; however production quality had improved considerably since.
