A Morbidly Obese Monkey Is Rescued
A wild monkey in Thailand known as “Uncle Fat” for eating all the junk food left out by tourists has finally been captured after photos of his eating frenzy went viral online. At 60 pounds — three times heavier than an average wild monkey — the macaque poses risk for diabetes and heart disease due to his diet of milkshakes, sweetcorn, noodles and other snacks left by tourists. Wildlife officials eventually caught it and now feed it lean proteins, fruits and vegetables instead.
