Gina Gold is an award-winning children’s book writer who has produced more than two dozen Sesame Street pop-up books, scripts for TV shows like Running Wilde, Nurse Jackie and In Plain Sight as well as her own production company in 2000 and multiple books for various franchises such as Disney, Mattel and Dreamworks; she even wrote the script for SeaWorld MarineMates line of talking plush toys!
She is best-known for playing Irene Raymond on EastEnders and Detective Inspector Gina Gold on The Bill; her death on-screen led to the departure of long-serving actor PC Reg Hollis from both series.
